Chevrolet Presents, “Soap Box Derby”, “World’s Gravity Grand Prix”, Eastman Color, Heavy Fade, Circa 1969
“Started by Chevrolet in 1934, the All-American Soap Box Derby is known as the “World’s Gravity Grand Prix,” and in my brother’s day, it was open only to boys eleven to sixteen. Its rules were strict: Cars couldn’t exceed 80 inches in length or 250 pounds, including driver; materials couldn’t cost more than $40.”
