Wise Use of Credit, “Wise Use Of Credit 1960s Sutherland Prods”, “Sutherland Educational Films Inc Presents”, Eastman Color? Pink Fade,
“A short film produced for the National Consumer Finance Association with the purpose of educating high school and college students on debt, loans, and how much additional debt should be taken on given net income less fixed expenses and other necessities. It centers on a conservative, stuffy business-like character named “Mr. Money” and his explaining of debt to two students.”
“Mr. Money uses his Learning Machine to teach John and Judy how credit works. The three actors get screen credit. All look familiar. Mr Money is veteran character actor Regis Toomey, John is Jan Stine, a Ft. Wayne native who appeared at the Pasadena Playhouse (with Madge Blake!) and on dramatic TV for a few years in the early ’60s. Judy asks, “Gee, Mr. Money. Do girls have to learn all this about credit, too?” Now, ain’t that cute. This is short is produced by a subsidiary of John Sutherland Productions, so we’re treated to bits of the studio’s animation. The short opens with LM-9 LIGHT MAIN TITLE by Spencer Moore and closes with C-42B MECHANICAL END TITLE by Bill Loose, both from the Capitol Hi-Q Library.”
