Two Buick Commercials
“‘Over The Top’ 1914”, “‘Daytona 10,000’ 1960”, “Shortly after the turn of the century, the Chamber of Commerce of Reno, Nevada, offered a prize for the first car to make the run from San Francisco to Reno. The first car to accomplish this feat was a Buick. This film of the event — believed to be around 1911 — was made for a Buick dealer in San Francisco who, presumably, sponsored the trip. The film was unearthed recently from the files of an old photographic studio in San Francisco.”
