Heroine of the Week, “A Public Service Feature”, “Presented by the National Board of Fire Underwriters”, “In Cooperation with The District of Columbia Fire Department”, 1954
“This film tells the story of a 12 year old girl, June Blakey, who lives on Center Avenue. When her babysitting job goes awry, she manages to rescue 14 burly firemen, as well as 3 other lives, from a fire on Cherry Avenue. She was able to do this by using her presence of mind, calling the fire department and closing the kitchen door, while also making sure the baby was safe in her arms. June’s quick thinking and heroism earned her the title of Hero of the Week.”
