German WWII UFA newsreel (marked 523) shows German civilians skiing in the summer on some sort of slick slope, water skiing on a lake, farmer fighting infestation of grasshoppers. A japanese ship is shown in the USA, the Tatuta Maru, while protesters walk nearby holding signs that say embargo Japan, footage of Japanese aircraft bombing Chinese positions possibly near Shanghai, also footage of U-boats being launched and U-boat captain decorated, and footage from the Russian front. Russians surrender and are taken prisoner. Finally footage of Hitler greeting Mussolini who arrives in Germany by train. Runs about 600′.
