Color SOF from 1983, 800′ on two reels, “Cinema and World Learning” starts with early historic footage and re-enactments of the early days of movie history, including silent films, before showing how it has been used in support of Soviet / communist ideas. Features some nice color footage of 35mm movie cameras and some limited shots of production, as well as shots of movie posters and propaganda. Students are shown in a classroom watching various Russian educational movies, and learning from them, and the film shows how cinema can help spread Soviet beliefs.
