KIDDIE GENIUS is a sound film made in 1931. It features four performances by children considered to be very talented: the first segment is a young girl who does an acrobatic dance, then two brothers from Long Branch, NJ. Robert, age 8, is a soprano and Chauncey, age 5, is a baritone (he is reputed to be “the only child basso known in the juvenile world.”) The third performance is by pianist Francis Laska, age 5, from White Plains, N.Y. Last, is a young man who does a black face impression of Al Jolson singing, “Mammy.”
