XD75844 ” CRUDE OIL DISTILLATION ” 1940s SHELL OIL CO. EDUCATIONAL FILM OIL REFINERY OPERATION

This 1940s film produced by the Shell Oil Company covers the scientific process behind the distillation of crude oil. The footage uses animations to show the atomic structure of crude oil and the basics of the distillation process. This includes a demonstration of the separation of three elements into their respective categories after they have all been mixed together. It then continues with an animation of how the distillation process functions in a modern refinery. There is also footage of modern refineries.
