This 1960s Soviet travelogue about East Germany takes a look at some of the main cities in the German Democratic Republic (GDR), including Berlin, Magdeburg, Leipzig, Weimar, Dresden, Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz), and Rostock. The film mostly focuses on industrial and development progress in the GDR, with visits to different industrial plants, mines, and power stations around the country. There is only limited footage of the actual cities, with Berlin and Weimar being most featured.
