This film, an episode of the 1950s TV show “The Greatest Drama”, covers the life and achievements of baseball legend Connie Mack, who is dubbed “Mr. Baseball.” It focuses on his quick rise to fame as manager of the Philadelphia Athletics followed by the general up and down trend of his career with the team. It ends with an overview of the awards that he receives, including being inducted in the baseball hall of fame. There is also footage of many famous baseball players including the New York Yankees’ Babe Ruth and the Philadelphia Athletic’s Chief Bender. There are several shots from the different World Series games that the team played in under Mack’s supervision.

Connie Mack was an American professional baseball catcher, manager, and team owner. The longest-serving manager in Major League Baseball history, he holds untouchable records for wins (3,731), losses (3,948), and games managed (7,755). He lived from 1862-1956. He managed the Philadelphia Atheltic’s for an impressive 50 seasons. He was inducted in the Baseball Hall of fame in 1937.
