XD60494 “SEE A JOB – THE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER” 1968 CAREER GUIDANCE FILM LAX WORLD AIRPORT

This 1968 McGraw-Hill Text Films career guidance film looks at the work of an African American air traffic controller named Frank Boone, who is shown working in the tower at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The film compares air traffic control to the controller’s morning commute, by comparing the commands he gives to those that a car would face while driving on the road. The footage is mostly of the controller speaking over radio and aircraft taxiing and taking off. After this film debuted, Frank Boone went on to a long and successful career, eventually running the tower at the airport at El Paso, Texas.
