This 1952 film created by the Shell Film Unit covers the construction of a large oil refinery at Stanlow in the United Kingdom that was constructed between 1947-1952. The footage covers the construction of the different elements of the refinery in stages, which includes distillation units, a large cooling tower, and underground water pipes. The film finishes with several shots of the refinery in operation, including workers working outside as well as operators in the control room.
