This Cuban band was filmed by Norman Schley, a filmmaker who produced a series of travelogues called “Picturelogues”. This segment was intended to be used in a film he made about Cuba and the island nations of the Caribbean entitled “Treasure Islands”, but for whatever reason this ended up on the proverbial cutting room floor. Unfortunately the name of the band, band members, and the resort where they performed, is not known. The date it was filmed is likely the late 1950s. This was likely filmed on Schley’s Auricon, sync-sound 16mm motion picture camera.
