This film looks at three stages of the “Championship Chase,” a series of 10 open ocean point races for power boat racing. It covers races in Southern California, St. Petersburg, and Miami Beach in Florida. The footage is mostly close up of the boats racing and features famous powerboat racers such as Joel Halpern, Bob North, Larry Wood, and Rocky Aoki. The boats are always accompanied by helicopters, making for spectacular close up and wide picture shots.
