Made prior to the first manned landing on the Moon, this informational NASA film from the late 1960s provides a broad overview of the planned Apollo XI mission, and the preparation behind it. This film takes the viewer through every detail of the mission from the technology to the back-stories of astronauts Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins.

Michael Collins was born in Rome, Italy and served as pilot in the Gemini 10 mission in 1966. He was in the US Air Force and lived on various bases in California, France, and Germany.

Buzz Aldrin was born in Montclair, New Jersey. He attended West Point and MIT. He was a pilot during the Korean War and flew an F-100 aircraft and piloted the Gemini 12 mission in 1966.

Dr. Wernher Von Braun was instrumental in the creation of the Saturn V rocket and acted as Director of the Marshall Space Flight Center in the 1960s.
