This silent film footage from the Apollo Program shows Grumman technicians working inside a structure containing an early version of the lunar module / lunar excursion module. It appears to show a “fit test” — with various components being assembled inside a mock-up of the protective fairing that sat atop the Saturn V. The technicians are shown taking apart an antenna array (4:51) and then reassembling it. Some parts of the structure are clearly made of wood (12:25), indicating that they are placeholders or mockups for equipment not yet built.
