XD45394 1949 FORT MONMOUTH NEW JERSEY SIGNAL CORPS 16mm HOME MOVIES “A DAY AT HOME” (SILENT FILM)

This is a silent, color/black & white home movie. We believe this was shot at the Fort Monmouth, New Jersey by members of the Signal Corps, U.S. Signal Training Regiment, known as Company U. This is circa 1949, when the Signal Corps Training School was based at Monmouth. There are actually two films here. The first shows members of the regiment on parade and being inspected. The second is a sort of “gag film” called “A Day At Home” showing everyday life for inductees in the group.
