Dating to the early 1970s, these TV commercials for Texaco date to the time of the “gas crunch”. The first features comedian Bob Hope, promoting gas conservation through spark plug replacement. The second (:41) features a boy and his dog, and promotes Texaco’s independent dealers.

Texaco, Inc. is an American oil brand of the Chevron Corporation. Its flagship product is its fuel “Texaco with Techron”. It also owned the Havoline motor oil brand.
