“Survival Shooting Techniques” was produced by Motorola Teleprograms Inc. as part of a series of over thirty training films for law enforcement. The film focuses on how to minimize police officer risks in the field, by emphasizing officer preparedness to shoot under a variety of conditions and at unexpected moments. The 35-minute film was directed by Dennis Anderson, who also created a companion film “Handling Firearms”. “Survival Shooting Techniques” utilizes a combination of scripted reenactments and photographs to relay its message. Like other MTI productions, this film was carefully produced with script review and oversight by numerous police and sheriff departments and law enforcement offices across the United States such as Fairfax County, Va Police Department, New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Academy, Illinois State Police Training Academy, Middle Tennessee State University, New York City Police Department, Greater St. Louis Police Academy, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Fargo, ND Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety among others.
