This silent reel of footage shows various atomic bomb tests performed by the United States. The first is the Able burst of Operation Crossroads at Bikini Atoll on July 1, 1946. At 3:49 is footage of Ivy Mike, the first full-scale test of a thermonuclear device, on November 1, 1952 at Enewetak Atoll. At 6:00, an unidentified, nighttime atomic bomb test at the Nevada Test Site. At 6:30 is one of the 1962 tactical nuclear weapon tests that were part of Operation Sunbeam (also known as Operation Dominic II) at the Nevada Test Site. The test at 8:52 is probably part of the same series. Both produce large mushroom clouds.
