Opening titles: The Department of Defense presents Lucille Ball in Twenty Five Years of Savings Bonds (:06-:19). Lucille Ball introduces the film. Servicemen hold savings bonds. A man holds a twenty five dollar savings bond. U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt holds a savings bonds. In order to promote the program, movie stars helped – Abbott & Costello, James Cagney, Fred Astaire, Harpo Marx, Greer Garson, Kay Kyser, Lucille Ball (:20-1:45). Lucille Ball sits in a room and speaks to the viewer. Clark Gable and Carole Lombard. Steve Vasilakos points at a sign, he sold savings bonds and peanuts. A huge family bought savings bonds. A sign reads: Buy War Bonds (1:46-3:14). Troops march in a parade. Lucille Ball holds flowers outside. War Bonds signs. VJ Day celebration in 1945. Statue unveiled of soldiers putting the flag at Iwo Jima. A funeral. A wall lists those lost on December 7, 1941 on the U.S.S. Arizona (3:15-4:11). Lucille Ball speaks. U.S. troops on patrol in Korea. Berlin Wall. Troops in Vietnam. Troops holding rifles board helicopters. Bombers fly overhead. Cargo is unloaded from a ship. Marines board a bus. Soldiers getting ready to leave and board a ship. Soldiers board a cargo plane (4:12-5:35). White House in Washington, D.C. $25 savings bonds. A rocket takes off from a launch pad. Savings bonds being printed. Suburban neighborhood. College campus. Children at the beach. Lucille Ball speaks about the 25th anniversary of savings bonds U.S. Treasury Department Award (5:36-6:59). End credits (7:00-7:28).
