Made prior to WWII, this silent German film titled “Educational Film of the Diving Board” showcases diving and includes material shot in slow motion. It was made by the German office of Physical Education (the Leibesubungen). It starts with preparatory gymnastics / stretching at :47 before showing off various dives. Some of the exercises shown include handstands (3:16) and sit-ups (3:26),. Diving begins around (4:15) including an “ideal dive” at 6:27, as well as various techniques and types of dives. The film was directed by Hans Luber and Wilhelm Gadeke.
