Made to be shown to veterinary distributors of Puss’n Boots Cat food, this hilarious short film stars two lovely ladies dressed in leotards (think “Josie and the Pussycats”). The commercial promotes the fact that the brand will soon include healthy, polyunsaturated fats in the product. As the spokeswomen explain, polyunsaturates are viewed by the public as a “magic word” that will obviously help boost sales. We don’t know if it worked, but for a time Puss’n Boots was the #1 cat food brand in America.
Puss’n Boots was originally introduced in the 1930s by Coats Fishing Company, and later acquired by Quaker Oats in the 1950s. Despite its success and name recognition, the brand was dropped once it was acquired by Del Monte Foods. The current owner of the brand name is Retrobrands, LLC based in Florida.
