Kodachrome home movie from 1957 that shows Shriners, and was probably shot by a shriner. Possibly related to film GG1129.
This home movie begins with shots of the Army Day Parade and the Masons Parade in San Antonio, with the Alamo visible in the background of some shots. Lots of aircraft overhead, marching troops, etc. and dignitaries. The person who filmed it may have been a Shriner as special attention to that group. Next part of film shows a bus tour on a Grayline coach to visit Ft. Sam Houston, the Buckhorn Saloon and Museum in what appears to be its original brewery location, La Vieta Texas, Joske’s Department Store and more.
The Buckhorn Saloon & Museum is a privately run museum located at 318 E. Houston Street in Downtown San Antonio, Texas, U.S. Originally privately owned by Albert Friedrich, the Buckhorn became a tourist attraction for its unique collections. Theodore Roosevelt and his Rough Riders were reputed to frequent the establishment. Housed in 1956 in the Old Lone Star Brewery, the collection passed to Friedrich’s heirs who had it moved to its current location.
