Synopsis

After a short narrative showing U.S. Ambassador Robert Livingston negotiating the purchase of Louisiana with Napoleon and Talleyrand, the rest of the film is guided by Livingston’s spirit as he visits the 1953 territory of the purchase and shows the growth of such former outposts. Includes footage of 1953 era New Orleans and other locales.
