RJ10155 “UNSUNG HEROES” BAJA 1000 OFF ROAD RACE DODGE TRUCKS WALKER EVANS & ROD HALL

This film “Unsung Heroes” from producer/director Rodney Jacobs and Freewheelin’ Films (https://freewheelinfilms.net/) follows legendary off-road racers Walker Evans and Rod Hall as they compete in the grueling Baja 1000, the most prestigious and demanding off-road race in the world. Set in Ensenada, Mexico, the race spans nearly 1,000 miles of unforgiving terrain, from rocky deserts to pine forests, testing both man and machine over nearly 20 nonstop hours. Walker and Rod, veterans of the sport, prepare extensively and face challenges including flat tires, heavy traffic, and mechanical setbacks. Throughout the race, Walker battles closely with rival Steve Kelly, ultimately pulling ahead after a critical tire blowout sets Kelly back. In the end, both Walker and Rod finish triumphantly, winning their respective classes and reaffirming their status as champions. The film highlights the danger, thrill, and beauty of off-road racing while honoring the resilience of those who dare to take on the Baja.
