This color 1960s travelogue film about Hawaii is a United Air Lines Presentation, showcasing its DC-8 airplane. First-class passengers comfortably sit and talk, followed by those in coach (:25-:39). The United DC-8 is shown in flight (:41; 1:39). The stewardess, wearing a flower over her ear, brings meals. First-class gets champagne (:42-1:35). The plane flies by Waikiki Beach (1:49). After landing, hula dancers greet the passengers with leis (2:00-2:25). A Gray Line station wagon cab takes passengers to a Waikiki hotel (2:26-2:55). A woman unpacks in her hotel room, and others look from their balcony to the beach where people frolic in the ocean waves. Diamond Head is in the background (2:56-3:24). Beachgoers wear decorated straw hats (3:25-3:35). A woman with a pixie haircut and strapless suit puts on suntan lotion (3:45-3:50). Some accommodations have a kitchenette (4:19-4:33). A restaurant buffet is shown (4:35-5:05). Kalakaua Avenue offers shopping, and a couple buys Hawaiian clothing (5:12-5:45). People paddle in a Swift outrigger canoe (5:48-6:35). Hawaii (the Big Island) is shown from the air (17:42-18:00). Hilo has orchid gardens (18:15-18:35), from which women make leis by stringing the flowers (18:36-18:57). Women swim in an orchid pool, joined by divers from the rocks above (18:58-19:24). Kalapana has a black sand beach (19:35-19:44). A boy walks up a palm tree and throws coconuts down (20:09-20:38). A rainbow frames the ocean (20:41). A scuba diver spears a fish in the coral gardens (21:30-21:57). A couple deep-sea fish and the catch is hung up. Also shown is a marlin (21:58-22:30). A luau is prepared, including roast pig and poi, eaten by the fingers (22:33-23:19). A hula dancer dances in the moonlight (23:30). Food is served in an oriental teahouse (23:53-24:02).
