93994 ” BOMB INVESTIGATIONS ” 1960s LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING FILM TERRORIST BOMB THREATS

This black and white educational film presented by Los Angeles District Attorney Evelle J. Younger and the District Attorney’s Office of Los Angeles County, seeks to inform and educate police departments across the United States about bomb response safety and protocols. Founded in 1957 after witnessing a sharp increase in bomb usage, the LAPD developed a “bomb squad” consisting of skilled specialists and officers. The video is divided into two sections that detail the different kinds of explosive devices and additionally, explains the actions and protocols that should be taken by officers in the face of such a device. The film was produced through facilities of KCET, Los Angeles Community Television of Southern California and Larry C. Waddington acted as executive producer. It likely dates to 1969-1970.
