In this film, a police officer tells children about the dangers of accepting rides or presents from strangers, and relates the unfortunate stories of several children who did and were never seen again.
“This is Sid Davis’s very first social guidance film and the quintessential “stranger danger” film. Davis mounted this production after having a discussion with John Wayne about the sensational molestation and murder of a six-year-old girl in LA, which was dominating headlines at the time. Davis said that someone should make an educational film for children about strangers, and Wayne suggested Davis make it himself and volunteered to finance the production. David went on to make many classics in the “scare film” social guidance genre” – won’t know if matches until we revisit this film and check the title – Ryan
