This silent film — captured German footage re-edited by American intelligence officers — shows the Peenemunde rocket center where the Germans created and tested the A-4 (known to the Allies as the V-2 Rocket). The film includes an animated explanation of the rocket engine, engine test firing on a stand (1:40), early test firing (1:50), diagram of the rocket including location of liquid oxygen and alcohol tanks, etc. At 5:26, the guidance fins are seen under test conditions. At 6:19, a test launch is shown, and at 7:00 is an animated sketch showing a typical launch profile. A V-2 is seen on a transporter at 9:00, raised into position, and finally launched at 11:18. Or is it — the missile weaves and is eventually destroyed / aborted. Blast damage is seen immediately following.
