89264 MANAGEMENT OF CLASSIFIED MATERIALS “COMBINATION FOR SECURITY” DEPT. OF DEFENSE FILM

Presented by the Department of Defense and produced by the Army Pictorial Center in 1970, Combination For Security (DOD-IS 11) is a training film that presents viewers with an overview of the management of security classified materials for defense contractors. The film describes several security clearance forms, including DD Form 254, and covers personnel clearances and the transportation and storage of classified materials. The film opens with shots of missiles and radars at a missile site. George E. Harris, a Security Classification Manager for Kimball Electronics Corporation, talks to a new employee. Harris shows the new employee the security classification form for contractors, DD Form 254. Harris arrives by car at the entrance to Kimball Electronics’ manufacturing plant (06:04). The film shows the building of the regional office of the Defense Contract Administration in New York City (11:25), where Harris meets with an official to review Form 254. Harris shows the new employee a chart that reveals the organization of defense contractors and subcontractors when dealing with classified materials (14:01), and he reviews who is responsible for the classification system. Harris shows various personnel clearance forms, including DD Form 48 and FD 258 (fingerprint card). Harris shows a comprehensive Security Classification Guide booklet that may supplement Form 254 when appropriate (30:43).
