Opening: cars, truck, buses, boats, planes. An elevated subway train moves past (9:15), probably part of the Washington D.C. Metro. Cargo ships in port. Ships on the water. Allegheny Airlines is unloaded. Trucks and subways move. Sign for the Spearhead of Logistics, U.S. Army, Transportation Center, Fort Eustis in Newport News, VA. Title: A CAREER THAT MOVES (:06-1:02). Army trucks are driving and moving items. An army soldier performs maintenance on the truck. He speaks with the cameraman. A woman talks about being an army truck driver. She drives the tractor trailer (1:03-2:22). The woman performs maintenance on her truck. She works alongside some men. A crane hoists cargo onto a ship. Cargo is moved via cranes and forklifts. An African American drives a forklift. Men point at a ship and speak to one another. Giant cargo holds are brought onboard via a crane. A man steers a boat. Boat sails on the water (2:23-5:02). US Army LCU-1560 Rhineland (4:46) and LCU-1590 (4:56). The captain of the LCU speaks to the camera. Amphibious craft drives out of the water at (5:23). This is the LARC-LX 57 (Lighter, Amphibious Resupply, Cargo, 60 ton), or as it was originally designated BARC (Barge, Amphibious Resupply, Cargo), a welded steel-hulled amphibious cargo vehicle. A man steers an Army tugboat LT-2089. The tug on the water. A flag is raised on the tugboat. The latest audio-visual materials — which appear to be microfilm or slide projector systems — is used by trainees (5:03-7:00). An engine is started in a class. An instructor teaches with hands on experience. Work is performed on an engine as some do and others watch. A man holds a screwdriver and works on an engine (7:01-8:26). At (8:29), Huey helicopters are maintained in a hangar. Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane (8:34) takes off and then hoists a small observation airplane and moves it. African Americans dancing in a bar while Black and White officers converse nearby. An African America woman is examined by a doctor. A tomato is cut. G.I.s prepare food and serve it in a cafeteria chow line. A female trainee walks near horses (8:27-10:16). Men play tennis. A couple runs into the water. A man picks up a woman and drops her in the water, they play fight. An instructor and a student walk up to a Cessna 150G airplane prior to a training flight. Men and women sit in class at Fort Eustis. Trees. Williamsburg, VA, July 4th parade. A visit to Colonial Williamsburg (10:17-11:58). A boat with two couples goes fast on the water. Water skiing. A man glides into the water. Another is pulled into the water on a raft. A bikini clad woman runs out of the water. Virginia Beach, VA. Bikini clad women including an African American woman wearing thick eye shadow at (12:12). Army amphibious craft on the water including LCM 8214, a Higgins boat known as the Loretta Miller, as well as LCM 8506 and LCM 8512. Transportation Corp. At (13:38) the LARC-LX drives out of the water. At (13:56) a hard hat diver descends into the water. Different job opportunities shown quickly. At 14:07, the U.S. Army ocean tug LT-2038 is shown. At 14:17, a Flying Crane helicopter transports a truck. End credits (14:23-14:30).
