This film is unclassified. It is a 1United States Navy training film made in 1945 by Wilding Picture Productions, Inc. Title: Primary Flight Training. Taxiing and Take-Offs. The purpose of the film is to educate US Navy pilots on taxiing and take-offs in their aircraft. The movie opens with an instructor in front of a blackboard and three pictures of airplanes in transition :47. The instructor takes a model plane on his desk and imitates a takeoff and a landing 1:00. On the tarmac, plane runs its propeller 1:30. An animation shows a pilot in the cockpit 1:40. The plane captain waves the pilot out onto the runway 2:40. The plane captain directs the pilot with hand signals 3:00. An officer speaks to a pilot 4:00. The pilot is getting reprimanded for safety violations 4:30. Man washes a plane 5:30. The movie returns to the man in the classroom in front of the blackboard 5:41. The techniques of pulling out of and onto the tarmac are reviewed 6:50. Maneuvers on the airstrip are shown 7:45. The application of the brakes are shown 8:10. An animation of takeoff is shown 8:30. An animation of wind conditions on the runway is shown 9:20. A weathervane is shown 9:30. A plane prepares to take flight 10:07. A plane backs into another plane on the runway 10:25. Beware of taxiing on the runway. The pilot clears the runway 11:15. The pilot makes turns to assure safe takeoff 11:45. The pilot comes to the takeoff position 12:40. The pilot prepares to take off by glancing at everything in front 13:05. The instructor speaks to us again 13:40. The plane takes off and we have a cockpit view 14.35. The plane has an aerial view and is about 200 feet above the ground 15:00. You look well ahead of the airplane when you are on takeoff 15:50. In exercising, keeping the wings level is shown 16:35. Getting the nose down too low is dangerous 16:58. Takeoff attitude is shown 17:30. When a plane is ready to fly, you need only need to raise its nose to get it off the ground 18:15.
