87614 WWII DAMAGE CENTER TRAINING FILM METACENTER IN STABILITY

In the 1945 Department of the Navy film, DAMAGE CONTROL describes the effect on the metacenter of changes in the value of “G” relationship of metacenter height with range of stability, and initial stability in terms of displacement. At (00:00:50:00) , we see a pontoon stability experiment, and the metacenter’s effect on buoyancy. Vintage footage of American sailors and ships at port can be seen at (00:06:12:00).
