EUROPE ON $5 A DAY is a film travelogue produced by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and based on the famous book by Arthur Frommer that revolutionized the travel industry. The film opens at Kippen Airport in Amsterdam (00:00:50:00) as we begin a vacation tour of Europe. First, we get a vintage look of life in Amsterdam. (00:02:40:00) At (00:05:25:00) , we tour the Begijnhof, one of the oldest inner courts in the city of Amsterdam. Then, we view art and culture on the streets of the city, including a boat ride of the canals. (00:07:30:00) Later, nightlife in Amsterdam is covered. (00:08:12:00)

Our next stop is Paris. (00:09:35:00) Featured, is the Notre Dame Cathedral (00:10:20:00) , the Eiffel Tower (00:10:35:00) , the Palace of Versailles (00:10:50:00) , and the Louvre (00:11:48:00).

Now, we see the world’s largest carousel (00:12:17:00) in Vienna. Other sights to see here are the Palace of Schonbrunn (00:13:15:00) , Beethoven’s home (00:13:30:00) , and the river Danube (00:13:53:00).

Next, we see the fountains of Rome. (00:14:08:00) Rome is also home to The Coliseum (00:15:00:00) and the Sistine Chapel (00:15:13:00).

The next country on the itinerary is London. Hyde Park (00:16:55:00) and Buckingham Palace are featured, in addition to the Tower of London (00:17:40:00) and Windsor Castle (00:17:54:00) , home of the Royal Family.
