World War I Building the Peace uses historic newsreel footage to show views of Wilson, Lloyd George, and Clemenceau, and of scenes of the conference at Versailles. Discusses the Treaty of Versailles, pointing out that it was written as a series of compromises, its provisions and effects on the map and people of Europe, the League of Nations as an integral part of the treaty, and the failure of the treaty to insure a lasting peace.
