This black & white educational film is about the Paratroops of the United Nations Allied Forces who are fighting against the Axis powers. This film is circa 1942.

Titles: United Artists presents The World in Action, Paratroops, Commandos From The Sky (:06-:54). Men on a plane parachute off the plane, parachutes as seen from the ground. Armies of the United Nations are ready to parachute: Poland, France, Russian, American, British, and Canadian. A plane takes off. Men stretch and then do tumbles. The men then jump over a wall and then do hand to hand combat (:55-2:37). Hand to hand take downs. British troops jump off the back of a jeep as practice. Tommy guns are used and shot at targets. A troop fires his tommy gun and marches forward. Women sew the parachutes. Men practice jumping from a jump tower. A trooper practices with a wind machine, he lays flat while being blown, and tries to regain his footing. Other troops practice this as well (2:38-4:48). On the tower, the trooper is lifted with a riser, falls free and then then is jerked by a harness. A trooper jumps with his parachute open, from a tower which isn’t that high, just to float down to the ground and land correctly. In England, men make their jumps from a balloon with a hole in the floor and float to the ground (4:49-6:48). Troops wear parachutes and are ready, they are checked to make sure they are wearing them correctly. The men board a plane and get ready for a real jump. The plane takes off. Some men are happy, others apprehensive. The pilot warns the men that it is time. The men start to jump, their parachutes go off, and they all fall towards the ground. Their equipment floats down as well in other parachutes. A man lands hard and an instructor walks over to him (6:49-8:19). Planes fire weapons. Planes drop bombs in a practice simulation. Other planes lay a smoke screen. The men start jumping from a plane. Numerous parachutes in the sky float towards the ground. More men jumbo from the planes. Soon, the men are on the ground, with their weapons. They charge the enemy, subdue them and launch grenades and bombs (8:20-9:55). Parachutes land in the snow. The troops have skis. It snows as the men move forward. The men have their guns and their bombs. They blow up snow and ice. Deserts of Libya and Egypt. Men jump with their parachutes and land on the ground of the desert. Men land in the sand. Canadian troops graduate parachute school at Fort Benning, GA. Men salute and are saluted. An officer pins a pin to their jackets. Canadian troops march. Numerous troops parachute from a plane. The sky is filled with parachutes (9:56-12:57). End credits (12:58-13:04).
