These silent Vietnam War “dailies” — unedited footage — were brought back from S.E. Asia by a U.S. Army cameraman. This particular film consists of various segments. Some of it shows a Huey helicopter repair facility where choppers are put back together after suffering battle damage or needing maintenance. At 3:33, poorly shot footage shows an operation on someone’s big toe which appears badly injured. At 5:48, the repair facility is seen in operation with a Huey having its rotor removed. At 8:36 a Huey idles on the tarmac. At 8:48 shots from a helicopter of the Vietnamese countryside. At 9:34 the Huey’s shadow is visible on the ground. At 10:48 a field hospital is shown. The rest of the film (badly exposed) shows the inside of the hospital and medical staff at work.
