Shot by an unknown U.S. Army cameraman named Staal, this color film is raw footage of American troops filmed during the Vietnam War in 1967. At least some of it was shot in Tân Trụ, a rural district of Long An Province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. At the time Operation Concordia, a joint U.S. and South Vietnamese Army operation to root out the Viet Cong, was underway.

Soldier assists local as he writes down and looks at the man’s identity card; others then provide information that is written down (1:00). An American medic assists a Vietnamese child (2:57). An American uses an interpreter to help him with a native (3:43). American medics work on Vietnamese children/adults (3:53). Apparently there is concern that the body is booby-trapped. Americans have a rope/chain connected to the body, ready to drag the body (6:06). American G.I.s — the yellow scarves likely indicate they are part of the Air Cavalry — examine a map (9:07). A cameraman takes pictures of a U.S. soldier in action (9:48). Stunning shot as a group of American troops walk through a rice paddy (17:24). An American drives a jeep (17:37). South Vietnamese Military Police troops at a roadside checkpoint; they investigate a local (18:17). Hard to tell, this footage might show an American photographer in a darkroom, or it may be a medical assistant, is seen in front of a mirror; cleans a jug in the sink (19:02). American medic in a tent setting up IVs for patients (20:53). A soldier is worked on by medics in a tent (21:51). A person supervises as a man is worked on in the tent (23:06). Two men lift the patient on a stretcher (24:02).
