Shot in the 1950s, this film profiles the United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), the military academy of the United States Coast Guard located in New London, Connecticut. The four year program offered by the Academy is described, and the various academy, athletic and other opportunities presented detailed. The venerable sailing vessel Eagle is shown conducting a cruise to Europe, escorted by the USCGC Campbell (WPG-32) a 327-foot (100 m) Secretary-Class (also known as “Treasury Class”) cutter. Also seen in the film is the Martin PBM Mariner flying boat flying out of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and the USCG target range at Cape May, New Jersey.
