79854 WORLD WAR II U.S. ARMY INTERROGATION OF PRISONERS TRAINING FILM

PRISONERS is a re-purposed British training film that shows the plan, treatment, and plot of the enemy against the prisoners of war. It’s noted in the earlier part of the film that “A prisoner of war is more valuable alive than dead”. The film starts out with the soldiers in training with their commander about do’s and don’ts of battle. Later, when the soldiers are captured, all valuables that belong to them are put in a bag and are later destroyed. These valuables include anything in the pockets, all newspaper clippings, photographs, etc. Anything considered valuable is taken. In the film, you see some soldiers attempt override the commands of their sergeant by keeping their personal valuables with them. Typically hiding valuables thinking to not get caught will only hurt them in the end.

When captured, the prisoners are to be kept apart from each other so there will be no discussion amongst the soldiers. The valuables taken are used against the soldiers later by the head leader. The leader talks to each prisoner individually attempting to get each one to tell him their regimen for battle. Some soldiers fail to keep their training orders by their commander by going beyond the basics of name, rank, and number. The soldiers who over share valuable information with the enemy, hurt their people in the end. The prisoners, who stick to the basic information, are highly threatened by the enemy leader to do harm and kill them.

The enemy leader does everything in his power to get the prisoners to spill the regimen. He will bribe and manipulate to get the answers he’s looking to reach from the prisoners. After all the information has been gathered, the prisoners wait together for the transportation that will take them all to the prison camp. They talk amongst themselves about what they have just encountered with their interrogation experience.

Each soldier claims they only gave their name, rank, and number. In the meantime, someone from the enemy camp is above listening to their conversations and gathering more concrete information about the plan ahead. In the end, the enemy gets what he needs killing by bombs everyone on the turfs.
