79444a WWII U.S. ARMY & MARINE CORPS HAND TO HAND COMBAT PART 3 DISARMING TECHNIQUES TRAINING FILM

Made during WWII, this black & white U.S. Army film is about hand to hand combat techniques and is part 3 in a series. It includes various techniques for disarming armed opponents. Copyright 1942.

Opening: no opening credits (missing). An arm lead technique is shown. Bending a man’s fingers. A soldier holds a gun while bending a man’s wrist. Title: Searching Prisoners. Prisoners are leaning against a wall at an angle while a soldier searches their pockets. The soldier holds a gun drawn at them. A prisoner tries to grab but a leg sweep causes the prisoner to fall. A prisoner is on his knees on the ground. Title: Searching Prone Enemy. A soldier approaches the enemy and doesn’t do it right causing the enemy to pull a gun. A bar toehold is used the second time as protection before the search (:07-2:53). Title: Disarming assailant with Bayoneted Rifle – Frontal Approach. Move in to deflect bayonet and then twist, then reverse the twist. Slow motion is shown how to do it properly. Title: Disarming assailant with Bayoneted Rifle – Rear Approach. The technique is shown and then broken down in slow motion. Leg action is studied. Slow motion shows the entire technique (2:54-5:13). Title: Disarming assailant with Gun in Shoulder Holster. Technique is shown, then repeated and stopped to show the how. Reverse wrist lock is key. Slow motion shows the breakdown. Title: Disarming assailant with Gun in Side Holster. Technique is shown, then repeated and stopped. Grabbing the arm is key. Slow motion shows the breakdown (5:14-7:29). Title: Disarming An Assailant with Pistol in Back (Outside Turn). Technique is shown, then repeated and stopped to show the how of grabbing the gun. Slow motion shows the breakdown and the impression of surrender. Title: Disarming An Assailant with Pistol in Back (Inside Turn). Person turns inside, clamps gun hand, hand to face, knee to groin. Shown in slow motion (7:30-9:45). Title: Disarming An Assailant with Pistol Aimed at Head. Quick chop to the forearm. Technique is shown, stopped, then shown in slow motion. Vicious kick to the groin. Title: Disarming Assailant With Automatic. Arms raised before quickly going into action. Slow motion shows how (9:46-11:43). Title: Disarming Assailant With Pistol Pointed at Abdomen. Quick right hand jab, left hand twist barrel and gun. Slow motion shows breakdown. Title: Disarming Assailant With Pistol Pointed at Abdomen, Inward Twist. Throw the assailant off balance, entire technique shown in slow motion (11:44-13:25). Title: Disarming Assailant With Pistol-Downward Twist. Shown quick motion, then a breakdown followed by slow motion. Scissor action of hands. Title: Disarming Assailant With Pistol-Sideward Twist. One hand strikes inside hand while other takes pistol. Breakdown then in slow motion. Numerous holds and takedowns shown as a wrap-up (13:26-15:31). End credits (15:32-15:38).
