79284 WORLD WAR II U.S. TREASURY DEPARTMENT WAR BOND PROMO NEWSREELS 5TH, 6TH, 7TH WAR LOAN

This compilation reel was made on behalf of the Treasury Department during WWII to sell Series E bonds, better known as “War Bonds”. It shows various mentions of the 5th, 6th and 7th War Loan in the newsreel press, and was likely used to assess how the message was getting across and to gauge participation by various media. The Sixth War Loan Drive raised 21.6 billion dollars in November and December, 1944, and was followed by the Seventh War Loan Drive from May through June, 1945, which raised $26 billion in six weeks.
