This 1940s silent educational film THIS LAND OF OURS WASHINGTON DC shows Washington D.C. in that era. Sights include Pennsylvania Avenue, the Capitol Building, Treasury Building, Union Station (1:15), and more. Arlington Cemetery (4:47) and various monuments are seen, as well as Embassy Row, the White House (2:15), old War Department and Navy Department buildings (2:40), the new Pentagon Building at 3:00, the Supreme Court, and more. Mount Vernon is seen after a cruise down the Potomac. Ford’s Theater is seen at 5:30, the Washington Monument at 7:45, as well as the Jefferson Memorial and Lincoln Memorial. The film ends with shots of the Capitol Building.
