75934 HISTORY OF U.S. FOREIGN RELATIONS PART 3 WORLD WAR I to WORLD WAR II

One in a series of films made by the U.S. Department of State for the Bicentennial in 1976, this film THE RELUCTANT WORLD POWER shows the history of U.S. foreign relations from 1914 when the nation was a neutral party, through the entry into the war, the armistice, and the role played by President Woodrow Wilson in the conflict and uncertain peace that followed. Includes the sinking of the RMS Lusitania and Wilson’s work to found the League of Nations. The film then continues through the year 1939, as Adolf Hitler and the Fascist allies unseat the fragile democracies of Europe, and bring the world to the brink of war once again. The League of Nations and the work of the USA in between the wars end up being ineffective.
