Produced by the March of Time for the Red Cross and distributed by the War Activities Committee, “At His Side” dates to 1944. It shows the Red Cross at the side of the American G.I.s and the world of the organization in contributing to the morale of servicemen. Wounded and maimed American soldiers are shown throughout the film, as are cute Red Cross girls doling out writing paper, books and magazines and food, as well as smiles. African American soldiers are shown at the 3:23 mark in a wonderful ragtime club setting. Red Cross club mobiles are shown at the 4:20 mark. The film includes appearances by Lieut. General Mark Clark and Brig. General Jimmy Doolittle.
