This issue of the Armed Forces Information Film, War Film #9, contains several different segments including:
“F.O.B. America” — great profile of the DUKW amphibious truck.
“Combat Concerto” — shows a piano concert being performed for Russian combat pilots. The staging of it is a bit ridiculous but a lot of fun nevertheless!
“In the Bismark Sea” presents a reunion of servicemen who served in the Battle of the Bismark Sea in New York City. The events of an air battle involving 5th Air Force planes is recounted, including Australian Beaufighters and American planes.
“Back Home, Mobile Alabama” shows the city of Mobile during WWII with its huge factories and shipyards, producing Victory and Liberty ships for the war effort.
“The Enemy Japan Part III” presents a detailed look at the Japanese including their Army and Navy. Includes rare footage of Admiral Yamamoto, the Emperor of Japan, and so on. One of a series of three films about the Japanese hosted by Joseph C. Grew, the American Ambassador.
