This silent Kodachrome home movie shows a voyage from New York City to Copenhagen, Denmark sometime in 1949. (The date estimate comes from a poster of Louis Armstrong seen around the 7:30 mark in the film; this concert occurred was advertised as “The season’s biggest jazz event: Trumpet King Louis Armstrong and his soloists” in KB Hallen.) Skyline of New York is seen at :26. The ocean liner in the foreground might be the Nieuw Amsterdam, a Dutch ocean liner built in Rotterdam for the Holland America Line. At 1:08 images are seen of the stormy Atlantic before arriving in Denmark at 1:20.
