This silent 8mm home movie shot in 1960 shows then candidate for president John F. Kennedy visiting Fargo, North Dakota. The film begins at Hector Field, later known as Hector International Airport. Two unidentified dignitaries are seen in a convertible type car awaiting Kennedy’s arrival. At :40 Kennedy’s campaign aircraft lands and he deplanes. The aircraft is a Convair 240, N240K ‘Caroline’ which was used by John F. Kennedy in the 1960 Presidential Campaign. The aircraft was purchased by his father, Joseph P. and leased to the campaign. At 1:00 are close shots of the candidate. At 1:40 cars are shown gathered for a campaign event which begins at 2:00 with a performance by a guitar playing man. At 2:57 one of the dignitaries seen earlier sits on a couch on the dais at the event. Various speeches are made (but sadly there is no audio available as this is a silent film) an finally at 3:30 JFK makes a campaign speech.
