This color NASA film explains the June, 1965 Gemini IV mission, which was crewed by astronauts James McDivitt and Edward White. Gemini IV (aka Gemini 4) was the second crewed spaceflight in Project Gemini and it was the tenth crewed American spaceflight. Astronauts McDivitt and White circled the Earth 66 times in four days and White performed the first EVA / spacewalk by an American. The objective of the mission was to test the performance of the astronauts and capsule and to evaluate work procedures, schedules, and flight planning for an extended length of time in space.

On top of a capsule in the sea during a test run. It is June 3, 1965 – the astronauts head for Gemini IV (:07-1:28). Title: THE FOUR DAYS OF GEMINI 4 (1:29-1:47). Map of the world. Diagram shows takeoff trajectory for the Gemini. EVA – Extra Vehicular Activity (1:48-2:54). A special EVA spacesuit. The sun visor and parts of the suit are shown and explained. Nylon, gloves. Life support pack (2:55-5:09). McDivitt and White arrive, enter an elevator and get into the spacecraft, Gemini IV. The countdown continues on. Control room. Radar antennas. Men at work in mission control. Diagram shows return of Gemini going towards Atlantic Ocean off coast of Florida. Re-entry camera footage shows rolling re-entry coming in. Gemini spins (21:38-24:54). Gemini capsule parachute opens. Planes launch from the U.S.S. Wasp to search June 7, 1965. They find the men and Navy frogmen drop into the sea to get them. The men are hoisted onto a Navy helicopter and brought to the USS Wasp. Crew walks to an elevator. They get physical exams (24:55-26:23). Engineers review coded tape and study to learn. Inside Gemini footage shows astronauts James McDivitt and Edward White. White floats outside Gemini. Capsule being raised onto Wasp (26:24-27:42). End logo (27:43-27:49).
